Office of Legislative Research Reports

Below you’ll find a list of useful documents generated by the Office of Legislative Research (OLR).

What are OLR reports?  An elected representative can ask the OLR for information on any given topic to get a clear understanding of what laws we have here in CT and how we compare with other states.  This information is used to clarify any misconceptions with various laws and can aid in clearer understanding of pending bills.  Also, they often mention certain court cases that can be helpful in any firearms related research you may be looking for.

If you find a report not listed below, send an email from our contact page and I’ll add it.  Our tax dollars pay for this research, we might as well use it!

Please note:  This data is not to be taken as legal advice.  The OLR clearly states that on research documents they produce for the legislature.  However, the information is incredibly useful in helping you form questions for your attorney or research you do on your own.
